Crimson Tide is arguably peak Jerry Bruckheimer, and peak Tony Scott. It's almost certainly the peak of their collaborations together. An absolute pressure cooker in one of the most confined spaces known to man, this submarine-set action thriller is a masterclass in performance by Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman, two titans standing resolute against each other as the XO and Captain of a sub in a situation that may or may not require the launch of their arsenal to prevent nuclear war.
