If you’re down in southeast Wales, you can see this little wood engraving at Oriel Cric in Crickhowell through to July 12th. Hand-burnished to Somerset Satin paper, it measures 5 x 7.5 cm (2” x 3”). Morning folks, to celebrate losing an hour of my #StandingStoneSunday, here's Standard Street or Great Oak Road standing stone, near the lovely town of Crickhowell in South Wales. Standing over 6 feet tall, it's marked by the OS as a boundary stone but must surely be Bronze Age.
This visit April 2012.
The square and the round,
cheek by jowl, ying to a yang:
eyeball to eyeball.
Rapunzel knows it,
just one entry favouring
welcome visitors.
But this tête à tête,
with putlog-pocked walls, sheer-faced,
repels outsiders.
