As I'm growing older and experiencing my grandparents passing away, I've been digging into my family's genealogy. It seems that one of my direct ancestors, John Crandall (my paternal grandmother's maiden name is Crandall) of Rhode Island, has some amount of historical renown. For better or worse, I apparently share his tree with Lucille Ball, Katharine Hepburn, and Garrison Keillor.

It's interesting to learn about, but I don't feel much connection to the history. I'll probably make a point to visit Westerly, RI (where John was one of the founding settlers) at some point.
