Finished "On Earth as It Is on Television," by Emily Jane, yesterday. It took a bit to get into it: the book is a little bit plot-blocky in setting everything up, and rotates between characters quite a bit. It's unclear what sort of journey you're on at first, and (at least for me) that makes for slower reading.
Once the pieces are in place, though, things start to snap into focus and it's quite an enjoyable ride. The fact that the book features "talking" cats and aliens is, of course, not a small part of my enjoyment.
It would make a fine movie or mini-series. The resolution was satisfying and left me a bit sad to leave the world that Jane had built. It does not need a sequel, but I'll wonder from time to time how the characters are doing.
Three thumbs up. Don't ask where I got the other thumb.
