From tolerance to appreciation.

"When coyote packs are threatened they adapt by scattering into pairs and quickly reproducing, to make more coyotes."

"Coyotes are here and you have to learn how to live with 'em."

Wolves (and foxes, coyotes) eat a ton of fruit in July and August(!) -- blueberries and raspberries -- 50-83% of their diet! It's not bc they prefer it, but bc they're not going to catch deer or beaver so they eat what they can.
GPS tracking charts from 2023, video footage of them eating blueberries, cool stuff. They put GPS chips in collars, so the wolves aren't "chipped" per se.

So, I had planned a day where I was just making creole gumbo. And then I made the mistake of opening my news app, and nowโ€ฆya know, Jeezy creezy, why does the #GOP have to speedrun the death of all things?

#Cyanide bombs, or #M44, are mechanical devices previously used primarily for predator control. They are designed to eject sodium cyanide when triggered by an animal. The Biden administration banned them on public land after a kid and his dog triggered one, killing the dog instantly. The kid survived, but not without a lot of intervention.

See, the thing is, dogs canโ€™t read. Frankly, Iโ€™m not many people can. A spring loaded trap that shoots out a radius of cyanide into the environment seems like a bad idea. A much worse idea than learning to live with coyotes. #Coyotes are just little dudes, ya know?

Apex predators are a necessary part of the cycle. The GOP on the other hand, I think we can live without.

Trump Administration Quietly Green-lights Use of โ€˜Cyanide Bombsโ€™ on Public Lands

This controversial predation control tactic has been banned since 2023, but now, the Bureau of Land Management will be allowed to use it on a "case-by-case" basis.
