After 8 years in a tiny #coworking community (just three of us in the beginning and again at the end, and three different premises in that time), I have just moved my office/studio into the spare room at home.
The impact of the current government's policies ('business-friendly' clearly just means tech bros, corporates and party donors) and knock-on effects of the ongoing conflicts in the world (which, funnily enough, are also paying off for tech bros, corporates and party donors) have closed a lovely chapter in my life.
As #coworking chums, we have referred clients, supported first-jobbers, combined skills to tackle tough assignments - and been friends who supported each other through good times and bad, divorce and marriage, and a lot of shared meals.
We will stay in touch but it will be different, as we start the next chapter in different places, literally and metaphorically.
I plan to rent a desk in a bigger CBD #coworking space once a week, for socialisation, networking and be closer to some clients. I'm keen to hear from those how have been in a similar situation: What #wfh tips do you have? How do you connect with others? What works for you?
