Costplusdrugs might seem like a really good deal, until you realize they're using pharmaceutical manufacturers that have been blackballed from the US market for decades (Like Aurobindo pharma, Ascend, Sun, etc) because of their laundry list of health violations. These companies were just recently given access to US markets again, only because of shortage fears.

They're still likely contaminated by mold and metal shavings, so be very careful of anything given to us by filthy, soulless money hoarders; you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay a bit more and get something I can actually use.

In an interview with WIRED (Sept 2024), when asked about how he is thinking about AI, Mark Cuban responded (paraphrasing here) - that he would trust a seeing eye dog rather than a self-driving car to navigate 3 city blocks.

Why? "Because a dog can sense issues." AND "Because wisdom doesn’t come with text." Boom!

GoodRx and #PharmacyBenefitManagers (#PBM’s) Being Sued in Class Action case for price-fixing 😬

I’ve been shifting a lot of my inquiries on medication pricing to #MarkCuban's #CostPlusDrugs online pharmacy. In many cases, their prices are lower or similar to patient's co-pay and typically much less than the prices listed in #GoodRx.

My patients are usually flabbergasted when they see these Cuban's prices. I tell them it always pays to shop around!

PS: This also goes for diagnostic studies (#hospitals usually charge 3-6 times more than most outpatient facilities.)

True story: Patient came in this week stating that she could not afford #Abaugio (generic) due to copay, related to change in insurance status. I looked up the medication in GoodRx and saw that it was about $2,200 per month! On a lark, I decided to look it up on #MarkCuban’s site, #CostPlusDrugs. Would you believe it was available for $12 per month!

Not a misprint - $2,200 vs $12!

This is criminal!

Bottom line: Check both #GoodRx and #CostPlus when checking for generic pricing!
