"Do you like magic?" - "Somewhat."
It's been a while, but I'm back with a cosplay that's been a year in the planning! Fern from Frieren was originally a character I liked very much and decided to cosplay on my own, but I ended up with a large group of 8 cosplayers to plan with! Due to bad weather, only four of us made it to the event in the end, but we had three photographers following us around and took amazing pictures.
One of the reasons I chose to do Fern was that her dress seemed sewable for my skill level. I learned a couple new things making her: This dress includes my first placket and buttons, first cuffs, first pintucks and first standup-collar, as well as my first successful install of large friggin' pockets. (It's also the first wig I crimped in its entirety). I took some liberties with my buttons and hair accessory (if I'm gonna do it myself, might as well make it a bit more fancy) and used a linen-cotton mix that is annoyingly crinkly but nice on the skin and seemed lore-appropiate. I love what I made!
(The staff you'll see in pictures later is purchased online and my coat is actually from my closet, it's my favourite piece of clothing ever and from the Berlin brand "Femkit".)
This amazing shot was taken by snapshotdemon on Instagram and slightly edited by me. Love his work!
