Yesterday, I took a train to a medieval festival, in full regalia, naturally. A dad and his son (maybe around 3) got on at some time past me. Since three layers of clothing weren't enough to protect me from the devilish air conditioning, I'd put my cowl on as well. Dad spotted it peeking out from behind the seats and said to his son, "Look, there's a queen on the train!" They approached me and the boy went down on one knee. I most magnanimously told him to rise. He asked, stars in his eyes, if I was a real queen. Yes, I said, I am a real queen. I'm a real knight!, he announced, showing me his shield. Will you protect me?, I asked. Yes!, said he. I feel so much safer!, I replied.
