> more and more corporations are saying it's their "policy" (i.e. their unilateral choice) to not allow a P.O. Box address for deliveries.
It turns out that the #extraction side of the #AusPost for-profit #corporation means that no, this is not (only) the courier corporation's fault. It's gouging by AusPost.
They claim that a ‘Parcel Collect” registration will allow delivery to a PO Box. But still, they *charge the incoming courier AusPost delivery*, for simply taking it at the end of its journey:
“Parcel Collect is only available for items lodged with Australia Post or StarTrack. Other delivery companies can only deliver to a Post Office via your Parcel Collect address if they pay to Australia Post to lodge the parcels with our network.”
This of course is refused (why would they deliver to the recipient address and then pay AusPost for delivery?), which makes a P.O. Box far less useful to rent. And they offer no way to remove this extortionate barrier.
