Our cordyline is in full bloom & the highly perfumed flowers are drawing bees & insects from all around. It's heady but light & we can smell it on our balcony & in the garden depending on the wind direction 😍

Now that the explosions of yellow are about done from the kōwhai trees, it's time for natural fireworks from our tī kōuka NZ cabbage trees.

Like kōwhai, it's shaping up to be a big flowering year for tī kōuka. This is popular with the bees, and will be later with the kererū when there's lots of fruit.

Cordyline Disaster

Uncovered the cordylines after their winter hibernation, all three had died and rotted off. I suspect that they’d been short of water, covered and forgotten about.
