Does anyone have a solution yet for getting streaming services onto a TV, that sucks less than Roku/Apple/Android-Google/Amazon and could be done as a set-top box?

Maybe something like Kodi or Plasma Big Screen, but it actually works with streaming services, without the experience breaking every half year?

Needs to be something I can plunk family in front of for them to drive on their own.

#floss preferred, but id settle for proprietary crap at this point.
