@funwhilelost Geek out on it pretty hard, tbh. :)

A few things maybe of interest:

#CoopInvestmentClub - We've got a little network of them in Minneapolis, Vermont, Boston, Colorada & NYC. Wanna start one where you are?

#SDIRA - investing w/ retirement funds by & hacking them and funneling the $ out of index funds & into co-ops.

#moedaseeds - crypto-based microlending to co-ops in Brazil, with international aspirations

If you're in the US, the #NH Community Loan Fund is aiming to raise $12MM in new social investment capital by June 30 to help finance their largest mobile home park #coop conversion to date (more than 1k units of affordable housing). Our #CoopInvestmentClub is currently voting on investing a few $k, and details on investment terms are here for those interested: https://www.communityloanfund.org/how-you-can-help/invest

@imani

There's also a small but growing #CoopInvestmentClub movement in the US where folks commit to making monthly investments into a pool and vote on which co-ops to make patient investments into. Our club in VT just turned 3, and we have 24 members who invest between $20 and $200 per month.

Thinking about #coopinvestmentclub incorporation, @tbeckett mentioned a while back that you thought one could be incorporated as a co-op vs. an LLC, since corporations are permitted.

The thing I keep mulling, though, is, if the only purpose of the entity is investment, there's not patronage relationship, and w/o a patronage relationship, can it be a co-op? Could the LCA thing work?

Particularly trying to wrap my head around the real estate investing co-op thing...
