What Must Be Done? The Battle Against Fascism - It Could Happen Here
#Antifa: come for the nazi-punching, stay for the infiltrators of hate groups who finish the job.

It Could Happen Here started as an exploration of the possibility of a new civil war. Now a daily show, it's evolved into a chronicle of collapse as it happens, and an exploration of how we might build a better future. Every day Robert Evans, Garrison Davis, Mia Wong, and James Stout take you on a jaunty walk through the burning ruins of the old world and towards a better one that lays just on the horizon.
Some of my favorite podcasters went to Minneapolis. The regular news is not covering any of this properly-- but these folks know what they're talking about.
Both are experienced with mutual aid activities such as the hurricane relief efforts in North Carolina, or feeding and helping refugees down at the border in places like Arizona. (One also has a doctorate in history focused on the Spanish Civil War, so knows a few things about how people fight fascism.) The border work is particularly relevant because they've been seeing Border Patrol act like ICE for years-- out in the boonies where hardly anyone is watching-- and now the brutality is finally becoming more apparent to previously comfortable white folks in cities.
This is an excellent description of what's really going on in the places that are getting hit hard right now, and how people are responding-- and, moreover, what WORKS. Decentralized, spontaneous, autonomous organizing that's springing out of the woodwork!
If you want a clearer idea of how this shit can be handled, how communities react, and so on, this is the kind of coverage we need.
(They finished these episodes just 9hrs before Alex Pretti was executed.)

Margaret and James reflect on their time in Minnesota, the incredible community response to the immigration raids, and what other communities can learn from the Twin Cities. @[email protected]'s #CoolPeopleWhoDidCoolStuff podcast and #CoolZoneMedia's #ItCouldHappenHere did a crossover two-parter covering how successful the mutual aid #IceOut protests and community protection has been. It's quite hopeful coverage.

As long as there’s been oppression, there’ve been people fighting it. This weekly podcast dives into history to drag up the wildest rebels, the most beautiful revolts, and all the people who long to be—and fight to be—free. It explores complex stories of resistance that offer lessons and inspiration for us today, focusing on the ensemble casts that make up each act of history. That is to say, this podcast focuses on Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff.

"Remember when the world didn’t feel like it was coming apart?
Neither do we.
Cool Zone Media doesn’t mince words: we are living through the collapse of the known, and the birth of a new unknown.
Every week we chronicle that collapse, and provide advice and access to vital voices trying to build a better future.
