the last 20 years of watching alton brown has left me with the nagging notion that i need to put a gopro in my fridge. #cookingcrush #altonbrown
J'ai quasi fini #CookingCrush et j'ai une hypothèse. Toutes les séries que j'ai vues avec #OffGun sont des séries de gauchô.
.
Not Me : lutte des classes et désobéissance civile;
.
Cooking Crush : Pro TDS et anti classicisme.
.
For the final episode of #CookingCrush: Trio paste, or magic paste! It seemed appropriate as the ending recipe of the project for what it symbolized for the Three Must-Eat-Eers. It is indeed delish; I used it to marinate some tofu.
I can hardly say that all the dishes in this project were a success, but several *were*, so I’ll declare myself happy! #JVcooks #JVwatches
Not only did it not turn out like it was supposed to (look at my sloppy shaping [in my defense, there was too much water in the dough even though I didn’t add it all]; the two liquids won’t stay apart, and the recipe wasn’t very clear on cooking time, so it wasn’t cooked properly either), but I’ve also lost the Thai name for this, but it was mentioned in a previous episode. For #CookingCrush episode 11.🤷🏻‍♀️ #JVcooks #JVwatches
For #CookingCrush episode 10: Mala dry hotpot, as mentioned last week. I pre-made my own hotpot base before the weekend, because I’m wary of some store-bought ones, and I was worried that this was gonna be too spicy, especially with no broth. It’s not, it’s delish. #JVcooks #JVwatches📺🍲
Made some hot pot base for my next dish for my #CookingCrush project. …but it’s not hot pot. #todayinthekitchen #JVcooks
For #CookingCrush episode 9: Vegetarian’s Delight, mentioned in a previous episode. It really is too delightful to be this simple and basic. Delish. I did, however, add some tofu to make a meal of it; you need some proteïne too. #JVcooks #JVwatches 📺🌽🥬🥕🍚
For #CookingCrush episode 8: Strawberry coconut cake! In a recent episode, chef Chang Ma served pieces of coconut cake with strawberries, like, in a bowl. So I wondered if I could combine it. This is based on a recipe of a coconut crunch cake, and I added strawberries to the batter instead of serving them on the side. It works really well and was super delish. Croonsh on the outside, soft on the inside. #JVwatches #JVcooks📺🥥🍓
For #CookingCrush episode 7: fried rice. I actually made this and started the episode on Sunday, but didn’t finish it until now. Busy, busy. Rather than the fried rice itself being inherently Thai, I found it easier to find a fried rice recipe made by a Thai person, and that’s what this is. I was astonished to learn I was to put all the veg in at the same time, but it turned out delish, so fuck it. #JVcooks #JVwatches
For #CookingCrush episode 6: rice porridge! In a previous episode, the question whether Prem likes his juk (as it’s known in most languages thereabouts) cooked with or without pandan. …which I didn’t know was a thing, since I’ve only gotten my juk from other countries, where it does not grow. Naturally, I had to try it, and I found an auntie on YouTube who made it (also with star anise, which sounded even more outrageous). And I had my doubts, but it was delish. #JVcooks #JVwatches📺🍚
