A federal judge is set to hear arguments as he again weighs a legal maneuver that could lead to President Donald Trump having his hush money conviction erased. Wednesday's hearing comes after the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in November ordered U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein to reconsider his decision to keep the case in state court instead of moving it to federal court. A three-judge panel ruled that Hellerstein erred by failing to consider āimportant issues relevantā to Trumpās request to move the New York case to federal court, where he can seek to have it thrown out on presidential immunity grounds. They said they expressed āno viewā on how Hellerstein should rule. Trump is not expected to attend.
