(A heart for Lenin)

It's bee a while that I went to Minsk on my job, accompanying Johannes Rau, then prime minister of my state, on his inaugural visit to the newly elected president Alexander Lukaschenko. That was in 1994. Rau is long dead. Lukaschenko is still president.

I took this photo through a window of Lukaschenko's palace.

Three lions

My shot for #Fotomontag / #photomonday has been taken in Beijing, China. In the long gone ancient city - the Dashalan - near Tian'anmen square. Pretty exactly 30 years ago IIRC.

It was my favourite place. Conversation with people was not easy, but a smile helps a lot. Everybody was super friendly, helpful and interested, what the longnoses were doing there. The food was great too.

Late but not too late I come up with a photo for #fensterfreitag / #windowfriday.

This was the first larger city festival in my little town ~35 years ago. I took this shot for my newspaper. Nobody else had the idea to go up to the attic of the town hall. So this was a scoop that still makes me smile. 🙂
