Repco doing the dirty on their customers.

Local physical store shut - no electricity.

Phoned their national automated switch board seeking re-opening ETA. Followed instructions.

On hold for 15 minutes then told "Lines busy. Call back in a few minutes."

Trash service from Repco.

Been using the DiDi "ride-sharing" "tech-bro taxi" app.

1. Prices have gone up about 23% and I now need to compare their prices and the scummier other provider.

2. Sharing the details of the ride, something pretty important for some riders' security, is not reliably done by DiDi. Multiple instances of the link not arriving at the SMS of the Share-recipient happening here. Yucky, trashy, unsafe.

Did some DIY printing of documents at Officeworks.

Changes to the user interface have hidden the ability of the user to change Contrast and Brightness when printing.

What are they, $10,000 printers?

"Fuck the customer, this works for us"?

(The collation/stapling bench is long gone.)

Google Android almost got the banking app (last used 3 days ago) uninstalled to make space for a mandatory update of #Whatsapp.

I've got the #MassMarket blues.
My #UX counts for less than a pixel on a 8K display.

Just off a #PhoneCall about an important matter. (Funding.)

The quality of the audio was so poor.
Syllables and words often smearing.

Seems to happen quite frequently, but far from "all the time".

I'm thinking the algorithims they're using to shrink the bandwidth of the audio signals are not suitable for the environment they're being used in.

@jpnearl

Yes products and services have become very un-usable for an increasing proportion of the population.

Hidden controls, complex controls, hidden food packaging openings, food jar tops that need tools to lever open, the whole of IT (with a few exceptions), low audio quality phone calls, microscopic print on food packaging are just the ones that spring to mind.

Seems to be a de-couple between design and consumers.

Not always functioning at 100%?

Well you're doing better than #Officeworks.

Far as I can tell they've got the same barcode on the theft-prevention "Take this card to the counter" cardboard on the SD card display racks as on the real item you're trying to purchase.

So if you don't watch carefully you can go through the checkout and then discover at home that you've paid more than $70 for a bit of cardboard.

Such good service, so convenient, so reliable ... smh
