Fok (South African) for fck. Dropped 30 odd customers because, 1. They cost me money (negative), 2. They’re end users, and the scale at which I’d make money is mammoth, 3. 95% of all my headaches come from these users less than 2% of my revenue. Some say that customer is king, but the nuance is that good customers are king – NOT all customers. I will miss the good ones. Some will fight me over this, but frankly, fck your rat race. #qualityoverquantity #ichooselife #consumerism

Hey capitalism why are you doing that in the first place? Like wtf

If there exists #corporations in our modern world, with net value/revenue equal to, or higher than some #countries and #governments, what makes You #think that those corporations are not part of, and do not have #influence over governments, or don't cooperate with them ?
We need to wake up and see, that consumerism and corporations go far above selling and buying, and that they are equally a part of how our countries function, and how we are being influenced in variety of ways.

Forming abstract thoughts and ideas is one of the most primal abilities in a human species.
How much is this ability of ours being used in the forming of current society, by governments and by corporations ?

Around 1920 an idea started developing, that humans live in a dream world, that started being later picked up by marketing and governance. What makes You think that this foundational part of being a human isn't used in building current systems and exerting influence over masses, using this as their weak spot ?

How much of current cosumerism and work culture is based on selling dreams and abstract ideas ? How much of sales is being made by convincing people of abstract needs and wants, they didn't even know they had or needed before coming in touch with those who try to sell it ?

"American Dream" ? Dreams of freedom. Dreams of luxury. Dreams of riches. Dreams of convenience. Dreams of safety. Dreams of happiness.

If we aren't just naive sheeps, who want simple things - love, belonging, community. Being sold knock off versions of it, symbols of human needs, without any tengible coverage...

Back in the day, when I still attended school, I managed to read something extremely interesting that didn't leave my mind since then.
It was a school book about society study, which mentioned that we are moving away from age of product, to the age of information.
This may seem simple and of no importance, but seeing it unfold over the Years, and having the awareness of how much of our society is affected by what is being bought, this puts everything in perspective.

Post World War II world, between approx. 1945-1970 turned around working class, with better pay, better life conditions and better education.
After this period, when people already bought all they needed, and didn't need no more, it became clear that to sell what is being produced, things must change.

Many things did indeed change, and especially the fact that it's the selling that became the belly button of the world, thus - the product.
This is the world we know, world of buying, shopping, needing, wanting. Psychology played no small role in that, as marketing products to people and making sales was closely related to that.

After 2000s and moving forward with development of internet and online sales, we are slowly moving into the era where the new medium of sales becomes data and information. Those who see it, will not be able to unsee it, and the faster we realize it, the faster we can break free.

One of the largest companies currently are those who collect and sell data. Advertising and buying products is based on YOUR, costumer information, advertisements and algorithms. We sell virtual currencies, virtual items... Among NFTs, games and subscriptions.

Those who see it, will be able to wake up from this dream faster.
