There's clearly an appetite for shopping sustainably online. But it can be overwhelming to figure out how to find the certifications and companies that are actually making a difference. Certification experts say brands that are serious about sustainability should be transparent, meet third-party standards and quantify their environmental impact. Large e-commerce websites may highlight the certifications with special icons, hyperlinks to certification programs or written descriptions. Retail websites such as Amazon, Walmart and Target have set emissions benchmarks and other climate-related targets for their suppliers and list their own companywide sustainability goals.

Kann die Künstliche Intelligenz für nachhaltigeren Konsum genutzt werden? Ob und wie das gehen könnte, erklärt Maike Gossen, die an der Technischen Universität (TU) Berlin das Forschungsprojekt Green Consumption Assistant (GCA) koordinierte. Ziel war es, Verbraucher*innen online bei nachhaltigeren Konsumentscheidungen zu unterstützen. Der 'grüne' Einkaufsbegleiter, den die TU gemeinsam mit der Berliner Hochschule für Technik und der grünen Suchmaschine Ecosia entwickelt hat, war nicht allein auf Konsumentscheidungen ausgerichtet, sondern diente der Information und Orientierung von Verbraucher*innen.

If the USA wanted me to buy their products, then they should sell them in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). So far, it seems that only Chinese companies have done this for the Malaysian market. There are even many flagship phones priced at RM1000++ instead of iPhones priced at RM5000++. What Chinese companies offer us is better because of competitive specifications as well as competitive prices, and more control due to the Android OS, rather than iOS by default, which I don't trust Apple to handle my data. Chinese companies have addressed the issues of affordability and accessibility to technology for Malaysians, while the USA only sells products that we use to show off or appear superior to others. Is the USA trying to force us to buy their products?
