Mistigram: Cthulu felt awfully normcore (not a way he feels often!) cooking up a list of his favorite #anime and realising just how many of them were #StudioGhibli productions, but their output is solid even if his engagement with the genre is relatively superficial. He drew this #ANSIart tribute to 1997’s #PrincessMononoke (with help from LDA and ConsoleJockey) for the new anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection.

Mistigram: the unfriendly face of an #oni 👹 (or if you prefer, Unicode consortium, ‘Japanese ogre’) stares down the viewer as binary code mixes with the rain, spelling out the hidden message ‘#ANSIart is dead’. This screen was drawn by @ConsoleJockey and included in last month’s spooky MIST1024 artpack collection.
MIST1124 “Mistfunk” logo template
Mistigram: 26 years back, as Mist Classic entered its final year, we thought it would be fun to have different artists in our varied stable of creators demonstrate their different personal approaches toward colouring in and completing a plain Mistigris logo outline drawn by Rage, and the diverse results turned up in the M-9802 artpack collection.
For our 30th anniversary we’re circulating another “unskinned” logo, this time drawn by ConsoleJockey and reading “Mistfunk”, for friends to try their hand at finishing off in their own style. If you’re game to take a crack at it, you can find the generic version available as bitmap or block ASCII at https://mistigris.org/packs/MIST1124/ … I recommend you go wild with it.

Mistigram: this #ANSIart entry in this weekend’s Blender compo by ConsoleJockey is at once abstract and plainly representational, depicting the Fisher-Price style figures of the #MightyMorphinPowerRangers attempting to rob #ShaiHulud, the Sandworm of Arrakis described as “the old man of the desert”. Without their Dino Megazords, I don’t think they’re returning to the Command Centre with its lunch money.
