On the other hand, my wildlife cameras did not catch any view of the mountain lion, and haven't heard the crows alerting at all this morning (yet). The crows *were* patrolling behind my house last night though, but no alerting.

On 5/23/2026, at approximately 0700 hours, Rudd Miller left his residence located
in the 100 block of Sandberg Street in the City of Thousand Oaks. Rudd left in the
direction of Wildwood Park in the City of Thousand Oaks. Rudd was captured on
Ring video in the area at approximately 0720 hours.
Rudd has a grey/white beard, and was last seen wearing a dark blue flannel, grey
pants, and black slip-on style Van shoes. Rudd has early onset Dementia and
deemed to be at risk. Rudd does not have his cell phone, all vehicles at the
residence are accounted for, and he was confirmed to be on foot when he left.
His current whereabouts are unknown and he has done this one time in the past.

Ventura County Fire Department personnel are working to suppress a brush fire in the area of San Telmo Circle and Lesser Drive in Newbury Park. Currently the Lesser Fire is at 1-2 acres burned, and fortunately winds are near zero.

Fun time this afternoon with students from EP Foster School touring the Chumash Indian Museum in Lang Ranch and learning about 15,000+ years of history in our area.
Photo 2: The kids and I learned about building a tomol (canoe) out of redwood, thread, and tar.
Photo 3: I had no idea there are caves in Lang Ranch, let alone pictograms on the cave walls. This is a reproduction, but it shows actual drawings from caves in Oakbrook Park and surrounding areas.
Photo 1: The kids and I made cool abalone necklaces from shells and beads in red, white, yellow, and black – th primary colors found in many Chumash pictographs and other art.
The Chumash Museum will reopen to the public June 6, and needs volunteers! Contact [email protected] for details.
