The midnight cat that wasn’t

Heading home after a late night wander, I thought I spotted one of our feline overlords who had lost their way.

Apparently sitting in the middle of the road, as they do, and not caring about any cars.

Thinking it needed a nudge to get it off the road, I made the slight detour to go down that road instead of the one I was already on.

Luckily for me, there was nobody around to see me trying to attract the attention of a deranged TRAFFIC CONE sitting in a deep pothole.

It must have been hit quite a few times, with the top of the cone crushed and bent over, making a fair impression of a head on top of a body.

Oh, well – at least it didn’t run away, the usual reaction of cats around here if you dare get too close.

While they may not be fixing the pothole, it was nice to see some hi-vis workers out the next day, fitting it with a nice new cone.
