geez deleting your old #matrix server only to move from #conduit to #continuwuity and from a stupid subdomain to your main domain sure is fun

at least i think ill use it more actively now

and calls do *somewhat* work now

i hate that they only work with element (and on mobile only with element classic grrrr)

报错:`conduit | It looks like your config is invalid. The following error occurred: unknown variant: found `s3`, expected ``filesystem`` for key "global.media" in etc/conduit.toml TOML file`

Configuration - Conduit

Conduit is a simple, fast and reliable chat server for the Matrix protocol

Considering the circumstances and the potential target audience which were predominantly Iraninas, I personally at this point consider this software unsafe until proven otherwise through auditing.

The following is the copy I have that can be used for audition. I appreciate the #FLOSS community if they can help in reviewing this code which is written in #Bash.

GitHub

I know quite a few people that were running Conduit Manager. It seems yesterday or the day before, the owner of the project (whoch was practically anonymous) have deleted their GitHub project and all their repos with it. As a cautionary measure, I suggest turning off all the VMs and LXCs that was running this code, at least until we know if the codebase was not malicious.

I personally have a copy of the project on my GitHub account in case anyone is interested in auditing

#Conduit #Psiphon

Matrix, the open protocol for secure decentralised communications

It seems my hypothesis yesterday was spot on! #Psiphon #Conduit connections dropped significantly during the past 2 days, from over 29 million daily connections from #Iran , to 4.6 million. This is 84% drop in just 2 days!

Source: https://conduit.psiphon.ca/en/stats

The #Conduit and #Tor #Snowflake traffic today have been extraordinarily low across all my instances. Yesterday this time just one of my instances had 11.5GB in less than an hour. Today the total traffic have been less than 3GB across all instances and across 10 hours!

Do other folks have the same experience?

For those who are interested in self-hosting #Conduit servers on your VPS/VM, this project might be a quick way to start:

Disclaimer: I am yet to read the entire code-base. This is not an endorsement, but rather bringing it under the radar of the #FLOSS community so that we have more eyes on the code-base and hopefully improving it as well.

If you don't know about Conduit, it is a proxy server for #Psiphone VPN to bypass #internet_censorship

looking to self-host a #matrix server as a #discord replacement to migrate my friend group away from there now that the whole age verification catastrophe is happening.

is there a #conduwuit alternative that isn't uncomfortably sexualised and in-your-face about everything?

i guess i could use regular #conduit, but the docs warn about it being somewhat unstable compared to the former. #synapse seems to be insanely difficult to set up, and #dendrite looks like it has none of the strengths of the two others

i'd just use "conduwuit" but as a trans person it's making me genuinely super uncomfortable to see that kind of hypersexual fetishy trans 'representation' that they're going for. i just want a normal software project
