"I was diagnosed at the hospital with a concussion and, since that day, have had to go to the emergency room twice for passing out multiple times and serious confusion.
This brutality from the police has made it so I’m not only unable to work, but suffering from massive confusion and possible serious brain injuries."
and in every act of resistance that puts people over profit.
Their work was inspired by Maoist principles and the Underground Railroad—showing that liberation is collective, and mutual aid is power.

In my opinion we have to find a way to protect ourselves from #capitalism and the #state, FIRST.
We need #solidarity but we also need #MutualAid AND #communitydefense because, to quote the philosopher #KattWilliams "We got bills and shit!"
We are at a crossroads in human history. We will either figure out how to share, or we will tear apart the fabric of the world that supports us. This was really good, hopeful, encouraging on the political situation & #community. Also a reminder to kind of get over yourself and just do stuff. If you need that right now.

Taking up the gun (community defense) is similar to masking (N95) in that once you realize the utility and significance of doing so, it can be hard to accept an argument towards putting them down.
Is the threat gone..? No..?
Carry on, then.
"The lessons I learned from those experiences is you need to be armed in America, especially if you Black or poor. I also learned that there are white people who will risk their lives to save your own. I read about it but had lost faith that I would ever be in situation where I could count on any of them to help me out, especially giving me a weapon to shoot back at other white people.
My pops used to tell me you should be cool with everyone, you never know where you might get help from. I just wish that our youth that are killing each other could have been there with me to experience the whole scene. I will tell you the racist white cowards murdered young Black men with the nod of the NOPD and the military.
When I had to make supply runs I would run into the crackers on patrol and, hell yeah, I was nervous, but I knew I could not blink. Just like the hard streets of DC, arming yourself or killing is not something the average person wants to do. But it becomes common sense to survive or just to make a statement."

"Eventually, I recognized that in our larger struggles, our strengths and weaknesses are intertwined. Both marginalized and privileged communities are connected as if in a web that can create security, safety, and nurturing. Violence affects all of us, directly and indirectly, in our homes and in our communities.
We need to work to reduce it, as well as defend ourselves from it. We have the power to do this ourselves without letting politicians and bureaucrats set the terms.
Community armed self-defense opens up the possibility of changing the rules of engagement. It doesn't always make situations less violent, but it can help to balance the inequity of power among individuals and diverse communities.
I am not calling for us all to rise up in arms but to rethink how we defend ourselves. We can dream, we can build new worlds, but to do so we must not forget to resist on our own terms."

"In this context, the dispute between "liberal" gun control proponents and "conservative" gun rights advocates is a sustained disagreement about the relationship between armed whites and the government. Liberals trust the state to respect the rights of individuals and to protect them against crime and disorder; they see no role for gun ownership under the rule of law.
Conservatives retain some suspicion of government regulation and don't believe the state capable of protecting decent law-abiding people; they see gun ownership both as an emblem of citizenship and as a protection against those they see as criminals - historically, Blacks, and at present, immigrants as well.
The disagreement is over who should have guns: the point of agreement is over who shouldn't. As currently construed, both the gun control and the gun rights arguments - that is, both the liberal and the conservative positions - represent the defense of white supremacy."
