There's nothing inherently #western or #chauvinist about criticizing #China for very clearly and obviously not practicing #Marxism. Plenty of genuine #communists in the #GlobalSouth have criticized China for these same reasons.

As well as this, they tried to remove #RCV, like in the 1930's in #NewYork.

They had #ProportionalRepresentation & #RankedChoiceVoting for #municipal elections. Not only did it benefit black & brown people & poorer #community, but it also help elect a #Socialist & #Communist.

#NY ultimately removed RCV & #PR because #Communists & #Socialists were gaining seats.
