Spot-winged Stillness

Here's a still photo of a dragonfly perched near the water's edge. The dragonfly is a common whitetail (Plathemis lydia).

You know, the photographs that I post here are not quite a vivid as the same photographs that I post at my pixel's gallery, because here, I reduce the size of the photos and usually make a slight reduction in the quality of the photos to make them easier to load.

Common Whitetail (Plathemis lydia) on Island in the Net

I saw what I initially thought were two distinct dragonflies. However, using iNaturalist, I later learned that I had photographed both the male and female Common Whitetail (Plathemis lydia).
