Indeed I made that point in my post. Getting liars on the record is an important function. It is however an empty gesture if the news organization is unwilling to take a #CommonSense stance when confronted with an ugly inexcusable reality.

Given the quality of the prose, it would be far more useful as—shall we say—domestic paper for the water closet. It is the only way to treat a rag that has forgotten its place.
