@MaryAustinBooks You're absolutely right about all of that. #Vance has all the charisma of a wet dishrag. I'm still worried, because I think he may be considerably MORE evil than Trump. I don't call him #CommanderVance for nothing. His hatred of women goes far deeper than Trump's. Vance isn't just seeking to take advantage, he wants systematic silencing and dehumanization. There's not a thing in "The Handmaid's Tale" that would be beyond him.
Yes, like you, I'm counting on his lack of charisma to frustrate all his diabolical schemes. I just wish I were more certain of it!
At this point, #SprayTanHitler, #CommanderVance, and #Muskolini are what the Old West used to call #desperadoes. There's no halfway outcome. Either they win big, or they don't win at all. So there's no risk they won't take, no rules they'll play by, no potential target they'll shy away from. They can't be contained or controlled or moderated or appeased.
They can only be STOPPED.

Speculation about the Ukraine debacle: I suspect that Vance may have deliberately sabotaged the meeting by pushing Trump's buttons in a way specifically designed to elicit Trump's worst possible behavior. Vance may believe that if he goads Trump into creating enough chaos, it may eventually become possible to 25 Trump, or impeach him, and become President β or #dictator. Vance wants the imperial "unitary executive" Presidency to succeed, but he wants Trump personally to fail.
Trump and Musk have been getting most of the attention since the election. But I've never believed Trump could really make it through the full four years. Well before November 2028, we'll see President Vance. And he won't let Musk walk all over him the way Trump has.
