For a couple weeks now, the comments sections of #GoComics and #ComicsKingdom haven't been loading. Finally figured out why. Apparently both sites changed something. Now have to set both sites in my browser to "Allow Trackers" before comments will load. 😕

OK, so, I need to get this off my chest…
A new strip, "Phantom 2040: A New Shadow", recently launched on #ComicsKingdom.
When they debuted it, they said it would be published weekly on Wednesdays.
They missed the third and fourth weeks.
The seventh and eighth weeks were published on Friday instead of Wednesday.
Either they missed the ninth week, or who knows, maybe it's going to be published tomorrow on Friday again.

ComicsKingdom.com is not the most stable web site. Occasionally I run a script to check for additions and deletions to their comics list. It timed out today. When I visit the site with a browser I see they're claiming they have 535,335 comics, and when I try to view the alphabetical list at https://comicskingdom.com/features, after a minute it returns an internal error.

This is a surefire clue that their web devs do not run regression tests before pushing updates to production. Naughty.

The nightly consistency checker for my comics aggregator (https://comics.kamens.us/) notified me about a week ago that #DarrinBell's editorial cartoon and "Candorville" strip had disappeared from #ComicsKingdom.
I looked into it today to see if they had moved to another syndicate I could point the aggregator at, and found this: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/pulitzer-prize-winning-cartoonist-arrested-alleged-possession-child-se-rcna188014
I think this may be the first time a syndicated strip has stopped being published because its author was arrested for #CSAM. 🤔

Been following the rerun of #ThimbleTheatre "The Black Barnacle" storyline on #ComicsKingdom. It's a landmark story, marking many significant shifts for EC Segar, including 1st appearance of the #SeaHag. & y'know what? - she isn't the villain here.

Welp, I see #ComicsKingdom is hosed again this morning: pages loading extremely slowly, login not working, and they haven't sent out the daily favorites emails which should have been sent over an hour ago. I suppose it's unreasonable for me to expect King Features Syndicate to be able to operate a stable web site; they're not a tech company, and even tech companies can't do it. *sigh*

One of the new features of the redesigned #ComicsKingdom website (I don't think the old site had this, but maybe I'm wrong?) is that if you're a paid subscriber you can read comics a week into the future. Interesting.

Just went and canceled my #ComicsKingdom subscription. The "redesigns" of the website were causing too many annoyances and headaches, and now most of the "vintage" strips seemed to have vanished. I'll make due with the "other" comics site, since they know what they are doing!
