bingbongIncidentally just watched a #ComfyCon presentation on how long it took for some of the companies involved in high profile cyber attacks in the past few years to recover financially. In some cases, it's days. How about how long it takes for people to recover from not getting their medication? UnitedHealth started processing their backlog almost three weeks after they got hit (although they did offer loans to downstream providers earlier than that in order to fulfill orders etc., after pressure from the government and public.)
The thing is, UnitedHealth aren't incentivised to do right by people. Their share price did fall after the hack. But it experienced an even more sudden drop after it announced it'd offered $3.3B in loans. The system is run by people who lose faith in healthcare providers when they help people because it's less profitable. But uhhhhh nobody in the throw-everybody-in-jail camp seems to want to look at those people, for some reason.
