#OnThisDay August 6, 2014, ESA's Rosetta mission arrived at the comet Comet 69P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Rosetta's arrival at 67P with one of my favorite videos — The Amazing Adventures of Rosetta and Philae.

#OTD 10 years ago, 6 August 2014, ESA's #Rosetta spacecraft arrived in orbit around #Comet67P 👏 Our friend #Vangelis was inspired to compose some music to celebrate this mission, and here's the appropriate track for today 😎

Lost photos suggest Mars' mysterious moon Phobos may be a trapped comet in disguise

Previously unpublished photos of Mars' moon Phobos hint that the mysterious satellite may actually be a trapped comet — or perhaps just a piece of one, along with its twin moon Deimos.

A Singing Comet by ESA ESOC | Tschurjumow-Gerassimenko (67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko)

Tschurjumow-Gerassimenko (dt.), offizieller Name 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko (engl.

First view of Earth as Rosetta approaches home

This spectacular image of our home planet was captured by the OSIRIS instrument on ESA's Rosetta comet chaser earlier today as the spacecraft approached Earth for the third and final swingby. Closest approach is due at 08:45 CET, 13 November 2009. Follow Rosetta's progress at ESA's dedicated Rosetta site and via the Rosetta Blog.
