We made "Columbia Star" #Quiltboxes before I ever did the pattern in fabric. Four-wood designs are a struggle, because you need strong contrast, but you can't always tell the color and value of the finished wood by looking at the raw veneer on the shelf.

This was made for an Instagram quilt swap in 2021, and it went off to California. In exchange, I got a lovely "Orange Peel" quilt made by someone in Italy - very satisfying. This #quilt block is the traditional "Columbia Star", and much of the fabric is "Sturbridge Village" by Judie Rothermel. (I sure wish I'd bought more of that green border!)
