Devising a colour scheme
I recently made some tweaks to the colours of this website. I have always felt that colour theory was one of my weakest points as a designer, so I like to take any opportunity I can to learn more about it.Wow! An incredible and creative example of homework. I saw Zultanite, a rare #gem in #Turkiye that undergoes the #Alexandrite #colour change effect:
Our cones are not created equal; the short 'blue' wavelength sensor is well separated from the similar 'green' & 'red' curves 👁️
Alexandrite cuts off blue (like a yellow object) but embedded metals absorb the middle spectrum, meaning in black-body curve candlelight the 'green'/'red' ratio gets miscorrected by our colour constancy mechanisms🕯️
