In better news, I figured out the Nextcloud app works for document editing. I don’t know why I kept trying to get the Collabora Office app to work.

I ditched M365 a long time ago and started using LibreOffice.

Because of the bad looking UI I switched to the offline version of #collaboraoffice my Mac.

With a growing curiosity of using #CollaboraOfficeOnline, I now build my own #nextcloud instance with a running instance of Collabora code .

It took me some time to get it all done, but with the help of the AI Lumo from #proton I managed getting it all running on my proxmox instance at home.

Interesting.

Collabora CODE server won't install on Alma Linux 9 ... beeecauuuse their Repo gpg key is using a SHA1 hash and Alma 9 says Nuh-Uh.

Now I can set the policy to use SHA1 if I want to, aaaand I don't really want to.

THey're going to make me run this in a docker, aren't they.

I really like the integration of #CollaboraOfficeOnline into #Nexctloud, but the built-in CODE server takes up 1.6GB of memory, which is just too much for my 4GB VPS. #Hetzner Storage Share doesn't even include it for this reason.
Nextloud allows you to connect to any #Collabora Online server. Such a resource-intensive service is a great candidate for sharing, but no one offered it as a (paid) service, so I asked @archos if they could offer it as part of their @oscloud. They did and it works great and I just set up a recurring donation for them. 👍

So ... I installed the builtin CODE server app for #CollaboraOfficeOnline on my #nextcloud. And obviously also the Nextcloud Office app. On one nextcloud instance it's working flawlessly, on two other nextclould instances it doesn't seem to be able to start the server for it, and hangs with loading of documents with no end.

I tried to debug it, tried to check the process on the working server and manual starting on another, but it just quits.

Anyone got a hint on how to debug this?
