Free Coline Fay!
#ColineFay, a young French environmentalist and human rights activist, has been in prison for more than a month in Dakar, Senegal. Her crime? Attending a peaceful demonstration. The charges? "Association with terrorists; complicity against the authority of the state, acts or manoeuvres of a nature to compromise the security of the state". For this, she faces life imprisonment. She will spend Christmas away from home, in a cell with 35 more women.
Coline was arrested the 17th of November, after attending a peaceful protest to defend Ousmane Sonko's right to stand for election and to denounce the criminalisation of his political party, #Pastef. The demonstration was held in defence of democracy and justice in Senegal and of social and environmental struggles, which Pastef defends.
What is the French government doing to protect the human rights of a French citizen abroad? Nothing.

Coline Fay joins the nearly 1,000 political prisoners detained by this regime, many tortured in atrocious conditions of detention. The French government doesn’t care about them or about Coline. Minister Colonna, we demand the immediate repatriation of Coline Fay so she can be #HomeForChristmas !
