Three Swansea drug dealers jailed after e-scooter arrest
South Wales Police say that 41-year-old Paul Morgan, from New Orchard Street in Swansea city centre, was subject of a warrant at his flat in December 2024.
During the warrant, 31-year-old Kieran Jones-Mathias, from Pentrechwyth, who was a wanted person at the time, was seen leaving the address on an e-scooter, which are illegal to use on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes.
He was arrested outside a hotel on Oystermouth Road where two mobile phone’s were discovered that were ringing constantly. Both phones contained messages tying Jones-Mathias to drug supply.
Police then raided Paul Morgan’s flat where 37-year-old Matthew Ace, from Morriston, was also found along with over 85g of cocaine, alongside approximately £3,000 in cash.
Following guilty pleas in court, Matthew Ace has been sentenced to three years and 41 weeks in prison. Paul Morgan has been sentenced to three years and nine months in prison. Kieran Jones-Mathias has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Detective Sergeant Luke Tucker from South Wales Police said: “Paul Morgan, Matthew Ace and Kieran Jones-Mathias made the decision to enter the drug trade knowing that what they were doing was illegal. This was made even more obvious in the way that two of them attempted to flee Paul Morgan’s address at the time of the warrant.
“Like so many others before them, their illegal activities have not paid off. Instead, they are each beginning a multiple-year term in prison.
“This case should be seen as yet another example to those in the drug trade – you will be identified, and you will be brought to justice.”
