A new study published in journal #Ecosphere & funded by the #NOAA RESTORE #Science Program addresses this issue, and the results provide #PositiveNews for the state’s plans to #rebuild the #coastline .

#Louisiana has released its #CoastalMasterPlan which seeks to combat #erosion and rebuild natural barriers to storm surge. It seems this plan has a little something for everyone: additional levees/barriers, new sediment and fresh water diversion programs, and home elevation/buyout programs. While it’s unfortunate that some of these measures need to be taken, I’m hopeful that they may help us revitalize our #coast, our #environment and our cultural traditions! ...
