Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw

The new Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw is seen here moored at her home port on the Cheboygan River in Cheboygan Michigan. This boat is used for buoy tending and ice breaking duties on the Great Lakes.
As a side note the previous USCG Mackinaw now serves as a maritime museum in the city of her namesake, Mackinaw City at the tip of the Southern Peninsula in Michigan.

Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw
The new USCG Mackinaw, WLBB-30, replaced it's predecessor as a multi- purpose ice breaker and buoy tender.
Her mission now ice breaking, buoy tending, search and rescue, homeland security operations, pollution response, law enforcement, and public affairs.
Just a slight increase in duties compared to the old cutter of the same name. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/coast-guard-cutter-mackinaw-bill-gallagher.html #CoastGuardCutterMackinaw #BillGallagherPhotography #BuyIntoArt #AYearForArt #Cheboygan
