The #CloudNativeBuildpacks CLI pack has been shipping official #FreeBSD binaries since release 0.40.0 🎉

With the FreeBSD-specific fixes now in place, it’s time to finally submit the FreeBSD port sysutils/pack.

What started in late 2024 finally landed in early 2026 🎉

I now have a working PoC for #CloudNativeBuildpacks on #FreeBSD and #Podman.

Next up: revisiting the steps, simplifying them, documenting everything, and iterating until this becomes something more useful than just “Hello, world”.

I’ve added the last missing piece to the pack CLI upstream 🎉

With this in place, the next official release should be usable for creating a FreeBSD port without patches (fingers crossed).

In the meantime I’m still working on end-to-end testing on FreeBSD 15 with Podman.

Slow progress since the last update, but progress nonetheless.
