Very impressed at the speed of RK3588 in the Pocket Reform. It can open and manipulate a 2mio point cloud in CloudCompare seamlessly.

Pojan kanssa yhteinen projekti menossa, johon poika kysyi apuja kotelon mitoittamiseen ja mallinnukseen. Speksattuna vähintään 85 litrainen kotelo, jonka elementit vaativat suljettuna kotelona toimiakseen kunnolla.

Mallinnus tehty Lidar -pistepilven avulla tehdystä pintamallista, joka tehtiin iPhone 14 Pro -versiolla ja Sitescape -apilla. Apin pistedatan siirsin työasemalle, ja pistepilven käsittelin CloudCompare -softalla, jolla saa suodatettua kohinaa pois, ja loput leikattua ohjelman segmnetointittyökalua apuna käyttäen. CloudComparesta saa valmiin käsitellyn datan PoissonRecon -työkalulla mesh -verkoksi. Verkon siivous Meshlab / Freecad pallottelulla. Meshlabilla saa kolmioverkotuksen paremmin tehdyksi, Freecadilla siivottua loput.

Varsinaisen mallinnuksen tein Blenderillä, jota olen karsastanut pitkään. Nyt tuli sopiva projekti sen haltuun ottamiseksi. Blender on loistava työkalu mesh -verkkojen työstämiseen ja mallien rendaukseen.

Mallinnettu subbari on tilavuudeltaan melko tarkkaan 100 litraa, tilavuus näppärästi laskettu Blenderin 3d Print Toolboxin Volume -ominaisuudella.

Is there anyone here who has experience of exporting #PointCloud data from #CloudCompare and importing it successfully into #Blender?

💡 But we have a solution. Not a good one if you want my opinion but...

We can pick an orthophoto of our terrain and use it to color all our points in the lidar file. Hard time using #CloudCompare... 🏜️

Here, you can see the image. I downloaded it from IGN again, extract the right size from the lidar

The family of software that supports #COPC is growing. Just noticed Agisoft Metashape Pro (ver 2.1) can export to COPC. 😀

I'm trying to follow these instructions: https://buryassociates.co.uk/building-elevation-from-photos/

to create a building elevation for EXTREMELY BORING reasons and it's not working. Do I know anybody who is familiar with "Meshroom" and "Cloud Compare" who can spare a few minutes to tell me why?#photogrammetry #meshroom #cloudcompare

At one of my previous jobs, my boss complained that he only had 128 GB of RAM and its wasn't enough. I did find that funny at the time, but now I am the guy that has 67 GB of RAM and a 64 GB-swap-file and this is what happens regularly when I close #CloudCompare 😅
There's software that is optimized, loads huge amounts of data fast and doesn't do long running tasks on the UI thread. And then there's #CloudCompare ...
