Il existe déjà pas mal de distributions Linux orientées #dépannage #informatique comme Medicat ou SysRescueCD… mais aucune ne me convenait vraiment pour un usage quasi quotidien.

Entre :
des logiciels pas à jour
du matériel mal pris en charge
trop d’applications inutiles (on ne sait plus quoi utiliser)
ou une ergonomie peu conviviale

Du coup, depuis quelques années, j’ai fait un choix simple : Personnaliser ma propre solution avec les outils que j'utilise et je viens de finir la dernière version.

CloneZilla: One of the "tricks of the trade"

Right now I am making an image of an older HP PC with a SATA drive. I'll be transferring to a newer computer with an nVME storage drive, then upgrading the operating system.

Pictures is the CloneZilla screen showing that image being created. I store it on an external SSD, then will apply that image to the storage in the replacement computer.

The replacement computer will have significantly faster processor, storage and double the memory (RAM).

CloneZilla is a great tool. Super useful. It is also built on top of Linux (Debian and Ubuntu variants).
