Rat Can't Read (she/her)I've recently been confronted with how unprepared we really are for #ClimateCollapse. My workplace has been organizing an in-person event that was recently rescheduled due to #ClimateDistruption (nevermind that #CovidIsNotOver and there are new variants on the rise πβ). Instead of using this as an opportunity to think about the future of our work and #ClimateChange, everyone is making pithy statements about how this disaster is such a tragedy, but no one is making the connection that these tragedies are going to keep happening and we can't just continue working as though the world hasn't changed.
More and more, the work I do feels so meaningless, especially when it depends on continued #Ecocide and furthering a #pandemic by hosting all sorts of events that require people to fly, using up #FossilFuels and spreading #COVID.
