@jhaue There don’t appear to be many Universities that have not been corrupted.

Poisoning the minds of the young with scholarships, grants, linkage grants, sponsored research centres and the fully owned institutes for fossil fuel partnerships.

There’s no research on a dead planet.

Stop the climate chaos

A hundred dead, cars piled up on the streets, desperate people trapped in buildings. Yesterday's flash floods in Spain remind us that climate disasters can strike us anywhere, at any time. "#Fossilfuel executives have known since the 1970s that burning oil, coal and gas would cause escalating #climatecatastrophes and worldwide suffering. Yet they lied, sacrificed our safety for their greed and just unleashed an apocalypse on my hometown. Their actions will condemn children today to a planet that’s more hell than Earth by the end of the century if we don’t stop them.

It isn’t just a tragedy; it’s a crime against humanity."

Helene destroyed my hometown. I don't want climate change stories of false hope

The hurricane leveled Asheville and other towns in western North Carolina. The push for optimism about our climate future rings hollow right now.

"...going to be, because the NOW known accelerated melting of pole ice was probably not yet factored in‼️]

With temperatures expected to be between 1.6 and 1.8C above preindustrial levels through the 2040s, 2050s and 2060s in most of these scenarios, that would 👉raise the odds of unexpected #ClimateCatastrophes.👈

But 16 scenarios allow for such a “#HighOvershoot” and are considered “reasonable”

Disturbing story! Maybe the #Plastics will kill us before the #ClimateCatastrophes?

@GreenFire

I agree with this tenet in general.

#ClimateCatastrophes will continue to increase in frequency, however. Just as lock-downs were "unthinkable" before the #Covid19 Pandemic, #Nationalization will be one of the few remaining options before a societal breakdown.
This time round, the people to foot the bill mustn't be the taxpayers, but the real culprits: #BigOil.

"Imagine if we could go back in time and stop offshore drilling at the dawn of the oil age and prevent environmental and #climatecatastrophes. This is where we are at with deep sea mining. This is a once in a generation opportunity: to stop another extractive industry from damaging the global oceans the way the fossil fuel companies have done to the climate."

Stop deep sea mining - Greenpeace International

The deep ocean is one of the world’s largest, most fragile, and most important ecosystems. We need a global moratorium to stop the launch of this destructive new extractive industry.
