What is #AlboPM up to…? Richard Denniss has some answer, and a warning for him, here:

“It was no accident that Labor waited until after the 2025 election to announce its support for the massive North West Shelf gas project, just as it was no accident that Labor waited until after the 2022 election to announce $1.9 billion worth of taxpayer subsidies for the Middle Arm gas project in Darwin. Labor keeps betting that voters will forgive and forget their support for fossil fuels expansion, but while that might work nationwide, it’s far less likely to work in the inner-city seats Labor is hanging on to by the skin of their teeth.”

Albo is sacrificing inner-city Labor seats, but for what?

Ever since the Liberals and Nationals split and reunited twice, the combined vote for the Coalition parties has collapsed, and support for One Nation has surged. But, it’s not just the Coalition whose once safe seats are no longer safe.

Climate action has long been associated with preventing things from getting built — and raising the cost of energy in the process. Now, its supporters need to switch gears in a big way #CliimateAction #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition https://www.nationalobserver.com/2024/12/10/opinion/climate-activists-mantra-build-energy
Climate activists need a new mantra: Build, baby, build

Unless and until climate policy becomes economic policy, one that reduces costs rather than raising them, it’s unlikely that support for climate action will increase meaningfully. That means climate-concerned progressives have to embrace building — and reducing the obstacles that stand in the way of it — in a way they never have before.

Climate research was used as a #CliimateAction delaying tactic for so long that I'm not sure the climate research community will ever be able to switch over into a direct action mindset to a large extent.

We need to do a better job of highlighting Biden's accomplishments or his opponents are going to win the next election and we can kiss #CliimateAction goodbye. Sometimes in order to get good results they've got to stop letting hope for the perfect get in the way of good progress.

Lady Chainsaw (roots from #Dakota first peoples) wanted to visit & give support to #OldGrowth #forestdefenders up at ridge camp last July & we got her up the mountain.
