In a new project called The Book of the Week which started today, I'm reviewing the absolutely brilliant book Clever Girl: Jurassic Park by Canadian academic Hannah McGregor. A cleverly written queer feminist analysis of Steven Spielberg's 1993 dinosaur blockbuster, this book makes you appreciate Jurassic Park even more!

Ok: good people of Mastodon, help me compile a list of everything even remotely dinosaur-related in the greater Boston area. Items should be visible from public streets or sidewalks and within about an 8-10 mile ring from downtown Boston. Street names, murals, climbing structures, statuary, shrubberies, lawn decorations, splash pads, trilobites embedded in concrete: all are fair game. Bonus: any purveyors of calories with dinosaur-themed items on the menu.

The Rex at MOS is already on the list. Boosts appreciated!

I need to be more like the raptors of Jurassic park. I will need to get through the fence that cages me to get free. (Freedom for all of us raptors) Better to get there by carefully testing the fences for weaknesses than to shock myself to hell trying to bust through in a frenzy.
