Why do I always get the people who clap only once on #Medium?

Newsflash: Medium allows you to clap 50 times for a single piece. It is mighty rare that I don't give all 50 claps.

One clap??? What is that? When those people celebrate someone else's success IRL do they clap only once and leave???
