I love Pittsburgh. The sense of community sometimes gets lost in the day to day but when it's needed it's still there. Every time there is a major incident like this it's always followed up by stories of how the whole region pulled together. I miss living there.

It's amazing for me to see the factory that I literally grew up across the river from — and tbh, which probably gave me asthma — making world headlines. And for the most terrible possible reasons.

I'm thinking about the family members who lost loved ones, and about the first responders who were confronted with a horrible situation yesterday.

And feeling solidarity with my fellow members of the #Steelworkers union.

Grants totaling $250,000 are being made to six local groups from money paid to settle a complaint against U.S. Steel’s #Clairton Plant, Allegheny County officials announced.
