Oh, also, I have "Claire Obscur" now.

I've only played for an hour or so.

My first impressions (PS5 version, performance mode):

- Interesting battle system so far, but I'll never be good at parrying

- I REALLY hope I'll get a map in addition to the compass soon. I NEED maps in games! Throw me into an arena with more than one path, as soon as I turn 360° once I'll be totally lost. I NEED maps in games! I couldn't finish Doom (2016) because the 3D map was too much for my head

- Visual STYLE is lovely, but graphics have the usual flickering lights and hairs and ugly seams on clothes as I'm used from so many 3D games

- The music is, on the standard setting, too loud compared to voices, but DAMN is the soundtrack great even in the beginning already!

I wonder what was the logic behing excluding #Expedition33 from #TheGrammys.

Lorien Testard literally make one the best soundtrack of 2026 and they didn't get a nomination.

Then you ask why the #TheGameAwards exist. Because the Recording Academy and Hollywood don't get videogames. They throw awards at random to themselves.

Looking at #EldenRing metacritic page reveals a divergence between critical and fan reception of the game. There is another widely popular game with the same divide: #Skyrim. Like Elden Ring it's not the best RPG, some of its systems are rudimentary, but it sure has a lot of open-world "content".

Notable that #DarkSouls 3 or #ClaireObscur do not have such score discrepancies.
