Ranger Sarah is sad to learn that an officer of the 20th Wisconsin Infantry ordered the cannon horses to be shot, this was at first refused by solders and other officers yelling "Save the Horses" but then the order to shoot them was repeated and followed. 40 horses died in the battle.
